LET'S GO DEEPER
To surrender to our present desires, we need to be aware of what holds us hostage in the past or future. Recognize these stories for what they are. Feel them. Acknowledge them. Release the judgement around them. And then get truly present to see what is true in THIS moment.

What are the stories running through your head? Which desires are yours and which ones were planted there by others? Remember a time in your life when you truly wanted something and you got it. Remember a time in your life when you truly wanter something and you did NOT get it. Remember a time in your life when you got something you didn't want. Remember a time in your life when you thought you wanted something but didn't really. Remember a time in your life when you wanted something and were told it was unrealistic, untrue, undesirable, etc. Remember a time when you wanted something impossible and were told it was possible. What did your family want for you? What did you want to be as a child? Remember a time when you felt ashamed of wanting something. Remember a time when you felt bad for wanting too much or feeling greedy. Remember a time when you felt like your desires meant nothing and were not worthy of being met. Remember a time when you simply dreamed. |
