FYI - Cut & Paste NEVER sounds personal...
You can achieve more with ONE personal message with a real conversation to truly connect than you can with 100 messages you cut and pasted and sent, pretending like you actually give a damn about me.
I know because I've made those mistakes. I've played the numbers game. I kept really busy sifting sand. It worked sporadically. Occasionally I'd attract someone. But it was a lot of effort for little payout.
I don't like working harder for results.
It sounds like it will make things happen faster - it doesn't. It repels people. It makes people want to ignore you. It is a lot of busy work that doesn't always pay off. It might make you feel like you're doing something to succeed when in fact it's not getting you any closer to where you want to be. It's spinning wheels...
And honestly, it always always sounds fake, scripted, ordinary and I hated doing it. Whichever marketing guru told me this was the way... well whatever.
A cut & paste message asking me to your event, to be an affiliate, to sell me a program, to tell me 'nice to meet you, please like my fan page'... c'mon guys. When you RECEIVE those, what do you do?
Do you cringe a little? Do you have an 'ick' feeling?
So there's no reason why I would want to make another person feel like that ever.
There's a better way.
Take the time to truly Connect.
Who is this person? Would they even truly be interested in my event/service/ whatever?
Have a dialogue of 'who are you' with them.
Take 5 minutes to shake their hand and look them in the eye and SEE them (yes, even if it's online).
Build a connection FIRST.
5 minutes talking to one person will get you further than 50 minutes of cutting and pasting every single time.
No busy to be busy.
No repelling people with your bad marketing messages.
Actual, real client creation.
