Who are You Really?

who are you really?
behind that mask...

if you put away the striving and trying
would you be willing to shine?

are you pretending and know it
or pretending and don't?

where in the past did you make the rule
that reality is set by those who DO?

that if only you had this, did that, created in a uniform fashion
all disguised as following your passion and dream

then you could dine at the big table
with others who are pretending too.

for on this stage of life we forget
that's it's improve not scripted

and the more we embrace the uniqueness of us
the more the crowd gasps in awe.

the open hearted and open souled
the ones with the masks that camouflage their magic

our time is now
to peel away the lies we've been told are truth.

the more we shine
the brighter the stage

the brighter the stage
the more we are seen

who are you really?

a blinding light
ready to change the stage.
