CLASS 6 - CHANGE MAKER... If you're not standing on top of a soap box with a message of the change you wish to see in the world, it's going to be hard for the rest of your council to understand what the purpose of your current project is. While the Enroller is in charge of how to disseminate a message, your Change Maker is in charge of the core message - the 'why' so to speak. Your rebellion begins in the heart of your own maverick voice.

Change Maker
Never stagnating, never settling, and never accepting that there is just one way of doing things, the Change Agent seeks ways to shake up the status quo. Rules were meant to be bent, broken and recreated. Desert was meant to be the starting course. It isn’t enough for the Change Agent to simply make change. We need to BE the change. It’s not enough to WANT the change. The Change Agent needs to step in and step up to be that change day in and day out.
I get asked a lot what the differentiates the Change Maker from let's say the Enroller, CoCreator or Creator. The change maker is our inner rebel AND this aspect of ourself doesn't care if others are following, we just know that something needs to be different and we are willing to dance to a different rhythm. It is your ACTIVIST and the one who creates the powerful line in the sand that the Enroller engages people into and the Creator and CoCreator support into reality.
Can you find evidence of your Change Maker's voice?
Write down all of your impressions and start giving this voice form.
We'll go into this deeper in the last lesson but think of ONE THING you want to create and keep these questions in mind when you sit with your Change Maker, ask her / him these simple questions and wait for the answer...

Can you find evidence of your Change Maker's voice?
- Write about the last time you felt really upset about something in the news? Or on your FB feed? Or by some kind of injustice you witnessed?
- Write about the last time you felt really inspired by someone doing something great in the world.
- Write about something that is just unacceptable
- Write about what a perfect world would look like
- If your project were to draw a line between what is and what could be, what would that line be?
- What breaks your heart?
- What makes your heart sing?
- Do you think this project will change anything in the world? If not, could it? If yes, what?
Write down all of your impressions and start giving this voice form.
- Notice - as you live through those stories, what is the voice who is responding. Notice how it sounds, feels. Imagine what she/he looks like. Assign it an avatar. Feel what that Change Maker energy feels like. I have two images depending on the application, a great activist up on stage preaching to the status quo with conviction and passion AND a little girl who refuses to confine herself to proper behavior - a.k.a. my inner brat!
We'll go into this deeper in the last lesson but think of ONE THING you want to create and keep these questions in mind when you sit with your Change Maker, ask her / him these simple questions and wait for the answer...
- What needs to change in me or in the world around me to do this?
- What part of this is outside of my comfort zone?
- What will make the change feel safer?
- Which other Council members do you need help from next?
